Props for Pam

Had to post this since this is supposed to be a journal. My friend Pam is taking a job overseas and needs to unload lots of her furniture, so I'm getting first shot at it and she's letting it all go uber cheap. Much loves Pam xoxo!!

I don't know how she can leave our beloved Winnipeg, except maybe in the winter.

I know someday I'll look back at this blog and find this interesting.

Back at it

Looks like summer is about done and its back to classes. Yay! And not. This has been a great summer for weather. I honestly can't remember the last summer that comes close to this in Winnipeg. Not too many scorching hot humid days. Not a lot of mosquitoes either. Made lots of trips to Winnipeg beach and Gimli this year, and Super Spike was awesome.

The Cirque Plus

How could this happen?!?

Cirque de Soleil were here a couple weeks ago and I never knew until now?

But on the plus side, I finally beat dad at a round of golf yesterday. It was close right until the end. You might say Christmas came early. I've been trying for over 5 years to beat him!

Kaboom

Holy $#!^ that was some down pour. It came out of no where too. I was leaving wal-mart and unloading my cart into the trunk and noticed it getting dark and looked up and the sky was all dark. So I started getting stuff in the trunk quicker and all of a sudden I'm soaking wet. Thanks Winnipeg, know I can count on your for freakish weather.

Winnipeg Summers

We brave the winters, but rock the summers in Winnipeg!

The Super Spike volley tourney is just one of the many things going on right now, and the weather is the best I can remember since ever.

And let's not forget The Fringe Festival. I must have over a dozen friends participating this year. Shout out to Kerry, Pam, Lisa, Lisa T., Erica, Brianna, Todd, Marcelo, Marielle, Kim and all!

The Winnipeg Fringe Festival is a fabulous way to get out and crazy. I've been going for years and even participated a couple times. Since the stage fright got the best of me I thought I'd be better off more behind the scenes. But I'm just too busy this year and don't even have time to see everyone perform :( .

And let's not forget the Dragon Boat Festival. My friend's brother was in the race a few years ago and fell in. Not only that, he had a big gulp of the red river in the process. Yuck!

Winnipeg Concerts

The music scene has sure improved in recent years in Winnipeg.
Look at some of the names for who's coming to town soon !

Neil Young - July 26
Meat Loaf - July 27
Michael Buble - Aug 13
Black Eyed Peas - Aug 18
Aerosmith - Sept 8

Winnipeg Social Media Day

That's right, June 30 is Winnipeg social media day!

Head down to Earls by Polo Park between 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday to join in the celebration.
Or see you on FB!

Personally, I love social media and would say I'm hooked. I twitter on my phone (private acct) and chat via Facebook with friends and family all the time.

Dear John, at last

For anyone that knows me, it's no secret that I have a crush on Channing Tatum.

Today is the DVD release of a movie I've wanted to see for a while, so don't be calling me tonight coz I won't be answering my cell lol.

I almost went to see this in the theater but I've always preferred movies at home. My popcorn is better.

Try this on Valentine's Day

Wondering what to do with your sweetheart this valentine's? If the usual dinner and a movie is getting old, have I got something different for you!

Local burlesque performers are putting on “The Valentine’s Day Burlesque Show: Stories of Love, Lust & Revenge.” The show is on Feb.14 (of course!) at the Academy, 437 Stradbrook Avenue, and tickets are just $10.

The adults-only Valentine's Day show will be co-hosted by Winnipeg standup comics Heather Witherden and Dan Huen, and also features performances by newcomer Cherry Darlin with music by Johnny Pancreas & the Diabetics.

Hope to see you there!
